I don’t post on Facebook. I don’t read blog posts. I was always too self conscious to think about writing anything on my own.
So why in the world would I ever, in a million years, start a blog? Well, it wasn’t my idea, God called me to this.
At first I fought the idea. How could anybody be less right for this job than me? However, I eventually gave in to the idea.
My Juggling Act
I knew that my website was supposed to be about all areas of your life and how to do all of the things you want to do in life but never get to do. I found a great domain name- My Juggling Act. And it was available!
I spent months dreaming about my website- My Juggling Act. I wrote the name down on paper many different ways. I loved the look of it. I loved the sound of it. I loved everything about My Juggling Act.
But for some unknown reason, that I still don’t know why, I never purchased the domain name. Maybe I felt the name was mine and would always be mine.
It wasn’t until one day when I saw that someone purchased My Juggling Act and made a website with it, that my dreams came crashing down and I realized the mistake I had made.
Immediately after that, I made it a priority to find a new domain name, purchase it, and start building my website. By that time, however, it was very difficult to find a good domain name that was still available. I spent weeks writing every name I could think of that would fit my website. All of them were taken.
My Life Jam
Then I had a brilliant idea. If God wanted me to make this website, then He would already know what it was called. So I just asked Him to tell me the name. Five minutes later, I had My Life Jam.
For a long time, I regretted not purchasing the domain name My Juggling Act. I was mad at myself for not buying it when it was available. But eventually I realized that My Life Jam was such a better name for where I wanted my website/blog to go, than My Juggling Act was.
Our lives get so full. We jam anything and everything into our lives until they become sort of like a traffic jam. So full of everything and not very fun.
We need to be making intentional choices of how we spend our time…
Instead of “juggling” all the things in our lives, and somehow making it work, we need to be making intentional choices of how we spend our time based on the things that matter most to us and our families. My Life Jam is for busy families trying to take control of their lives.
I’m glad I never purchased the other domain name. I love the new direction my website/blog changed to. I love the idea of writing a blog now. And I can definitely say I’m 100% happy with the name My Life Jam.
